Now that I know about creative common licensing, I will use it and not be in fear of stealing other people's work. It is a serious deal and you can be sued forit because it is the law. With cc you can go on google setting and pick to find only things you are allowed to share if you give credit... It is difficult and confusin with these silly copyright laws and is especially hard for teachers since we do it to help students learn. Maybe soon they will figure out another helpful thing that will enable teachers to use others ideas easier. I just feel bad for my students that Iam going to have because it is going to just get harder down the road.... CC is a life and time saver and I will use it as much as I possibly can.

The titles of my binders are---Social Studies resource center, A house divide, and Ancient Greece review. I chose these because they can all be useful in my social studies teaching for my students.

What I love about youtube is that there is a video for everything! What I don't like about youtube is that I can fall down, someone gets it on tape, and then posts it. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_gY0ez18Aw This is a link to apsu's harlem shake:) enjoy! This can be educational with some of the documenturies that are on there fore teaching purposes or instructions how to survive in a library. I will always use youtube in my classroom.

There was a teachers guide to using facebook on teacherpop which was nice because sometimes I'm not sure what I should and should not post. With ning I don't like that you have to buy a membership or else do a 30 day trial so I skipped that but with the yelp , it seems like an interesting app to help find new places.:)I will be using that in the future.

It is important for educators to know how these things work to communicate with coworkers and to make sure that you haven't posted anything innapropriate on your page. This popular sites can help me stay connected to my fellow students and soon to be teachers and I like that. Facebook is the most useful because it has the most applications on it. As for using it in the classroom, I think my students can stay connected and help each other out by using this site.

Delicious mislead me by the name. When I watched the video and searched the site I saw that it is not delicious but tasty! lol I did not know that there was something like common craft! I need these to make my slieshow to avoid having to cite for pictures on my slideshow. I can see me using it to creat my slideshows and papers, and I can also see myself showing my students that as well.I think a cite like this should be emailed around to make it more known, there were only about 7500 views and that is not enough.

I started on page getting things done because i need help geeting things done!!!lol So much on my plate right now that I have it all organized on my planner and phone but I wanted to see if it was anymore effective. I will not make it my permanent home page because I like my google toomuch lol......
The online calendars that they can offer will be able to help me when communicating with my students, players, and parents! I can just write up a calendar or todo lists for them and send it. :)It was helpful because I know I am going to need this in the future. Along with these things I will make a wiki for my athletes parents when planning gamenight meals, transportation, tournaments, and banquets.

Oh my WIKI!!! My experience with my exploration through the wiki wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. When I went to a few sites and watched videos I understood that you can used it as a shortcut for many things. For example my family and friends have get together and the email back and forth about 10 times to finally get stuff arranged and the organization is terrible. With the wiki you can do it on one page and edit it accordingly. You can also have links to another subject matter of the party.:)

I chose the mind map bubbl.us and the flow chart gliffy. When creating these charts they allow you to keep things organized and creative which helps kids learn more effectively. It easily shows how you you relate things to one another. I used bubb.us to make a clip of a chart. enjoy!

During my time viewing the website Zoho I was able to make all kinds of documents. I felt like it was another version of all the Microsoft applications. I thought it was a good site but I don't like that for some things you have to pay a few dollars to create. With the Google docs it was also something that you can do instead of Microsoft. My students can easily create and share their work without having to go buy a 100$ Microsoft account. I prefer Google docs over Zoho because it is easier to work. I like Microsoft more than both of them for me though because I am so used to it.

I absolutely love google. It's my search engine on my phone and on my computer. I decided to play with the google translator and it is awesome!!!! I want to learn spanish and chinese when I graduate, I would do it now but I have enough on my plate! lol This is such a useful tool because if I have a student with a language barrier then the translator can help me tear down that barrier and fully communicate with my student. The second I chose was my calendar. I find it very useful for the parents of my future students. I can prepare a calendar each month and use our mailmarge to send it to all the parents! Thank god for mailmerge. lol The calendar can alert me when I need to make or send out a new one for the parents and of course whatever I have planned I can see easily in my email in case my paper work is destroyed somehow.

RSS method of finding feeds was the easiest to use. I found it super handy and it is one of the things that I will take with me and looking at the rest of the blogs, everyone else seems to think so as well.
The Search tool that was the easiest for me was the Google blog search because it is well organized and easy to navigate.Technorati was more confusing because of the clutter.
Useful feeds I found in my travels was the cool cat teachers blog about creating a circle of wise. I want to do it and stay connected with my classmates while bouncing our ideas off one another.
The unusual one that I found was wikipedias most unusual deaths.. I mean, there is really a blog for this! :O Some other tools I liked was the Edublog. That's exactly what teaching in training need! They have student, class, teacher, and all kinds of school blogs! Really cool!

It can help create a sense of community and interaction because you are after all, talking to one another when you make comments. Also no matter where you are or what time it is you can interact with one another instead of meeting up with other teachers when you all have conflicting schedules.

I found that while commenting on other blogs, that it is very important to be respectful of other people’s opinions. You never want to offend someone so if you do have an objection, then be kind about it. The second point I found about commenting is that comments can make an impact on someone’s personal confidence. If they have no comments then they get down about themselves. This can be hurtful to people.

 (In my class)I chose JoBeth Turners thing #3 because I liked her idea to put the assignments, notes, slideshows, power points, and her absence on the blog. The comment I made was positive and was my realization of how much easier it could make my job.                                                                                        (Not in my class) The next person I chose was Lindsey Burris because she said she feels lost if she misses one day of the technology world and I completely agree. The comment I left was agreeing with her statement and also I put out there that I’m worried about the future students not being able to access technology at their home because of the cost.                                                                                                     (In my class) Karalina Roelle’s blog caught my eye because her site checks for plagiarism! I think every college student needs that. I know that I always write my own stuff but sometimes two minds can think alike!:) The comment I made was that I liked the plagiarism part and that I didn’t like that you had to pay after the 7 day trial.                                                                                                                                                    (Not in my class) I chose Bailey Cheben because her picture for our thing #7 was intriguing. It described her, personally in three ways, art, history, and religion. I commented and said how helpful visual learning such as pictures can help keep students interested in lessons.                                                           (In my class) I chose Markesha Combs #8 jigsaw because she had a great idea with that. I commented to tell her I am going to copy her with the idea to have my student’s faces as puzzles… It is so cool!            (In my class) I chose Hannah’s thing #9 because her images were really good. I commented asking her if she could help me make one because this was one of the most frustrating things for me to complete.    (In my class) I chose Natalia Lee’s #10 because she understands how much time having an RSS can save! I commented on hers and said that it was a good post and that with things like RSS it can help us keep in touch with fellow teachers and friends in a timely manner.

What I like about RSS and newsreaders is that you have your favorite blogs and helpful teaching tools right there in one place where you can skim over them quickly.
I think I might be able to use this technology in my school or personal life by taking other peoples ideas and borrowing them to help enhance my teaching and learning experiences.
Teachers can use RSS or take advantage of this new technology by using this as a social learning commiunity. There are so many links on these subscriptions that you can find things alot quicker than using your favorites and going back and forth, now they are all in the same place.

I did this photo on ImageChef. The other ones had alot of advertisements so I didn't want to use them. I like the sites with the least amount of clutter.
The happy face generator has a web 2.0 link that seems helpful but it will not let me go to the links... Hopefully one of my followers can. I didn't understand this activity and I couldn't get the hang of it... I made another one and it deleted it and I spent alot of time on it... For stuff like this, whisper is good for me.

I like spell with flickr! It is so much fun and it is a crative way to write. I believe it can be used in the classroom to make posters or signs. Projects always call for creativity and this is creative writing. I may use it to write my students names on the walls or doors. It is so neat! I think sharing images online are a god way for people to be able to share them with others. Sharing is the best especially in the education field and images can teach so much. Like someone said in a previous post, a picture has a thousand words.... So true.

When I see things and wonder about its past, I am wondering about its history. I think the people most curious about human landmarks are the ones that love history the most.This image belongs to the group I joined Teaching American History grant programs. What I liked about flickr were the different groups you could join, especially the teacher groups. I really lik pintrest though... It's easier for me to navigate through... I am going to start using flickr now and hopefully I can catch on quickly.

The discovery I made was Zing Sale! http://zingsale.com/ what I liked about this tool was the ability to save money of course! Teachers do not get paid nearly enough so the more money we can save on class, every day, or personal materials, the better! Using this, you have an amazon price checker that helps you keep up with sale items!  What I disliked about it is that you have to wait until the notification comes through for the coupon, it isn’t instant. The useful feature that is most important is that whatever you want, you just let it know and it tracks it! You don’t have to do any more work than that. You are emailed when it is on sale and bam! You got it. I think it would help students better organize their money or their parent’s money. We need to teach kids that saving money is smart. Most kids now make fun of others for saving money and couponing. If we can get them all to see the benefits and importance, then they will hopefully all learn a little something about budgeting and saving! So let’s go ahead and incorporate it in a school. Financial classes should help everyone as well.

School 2.0 means my generation’s life. It is what we have been raised with and is our nature to understand and comprehend easily.  For the future School 2.0 means that our resources for learning will be unlimited! We have so much we can do already through learning with technology but everyday something new is done to change the standards of learning. I chose Web 2.0 is the future of education because it is true. My reactions are probably disappointing to most who read this and I do apologize. The things that I read and watched are thing that I am living through right now and have been since I was a little girl. I have been living in the age of a technology revolution so when knew things happen I know it’s advancement for everything, including the teaching world, but it is still is nothing shocking….. I participate in many online interactive things already that let me do so much! There is a new app on my phone every day that keeps me connected to the world, the WORLD! It’s awesome and it can only get better. Another thing that helps me in the education world is that I keep a good relationship with some of my past teachers and we can always bounce ideas off one another. That is one thing I am thankful for during my student career is the amazing teachers I had that I continue to talk to today, 15 years later! We can all help each other and it is so important, the old and the new 2.0.

Ways that I might use a blog in my teacher education program or my future classroom are things like screen casting that way the students can see other methods of learning the materials and it is web based so no software has to be purchased. Another thing would be to go to other teachers blogs to see their success stories and feed off their ideas to help improve my classroom experience. Blogs that do interactions with the students will help them especially if there are fun videos that do demonstrations instead of a boring lecture. With our blog system we have created at apsu I will certainly use it during my teaching career because there is so much feedback on the "things!!!"

Thing #2

My first blog!
I have no prior experiences of blogging my own but I have read some friends on myspace a long time ago.

I decided on my posted name to use my apsu username and I used the same on my blog but added 3040.

My experience with creating the blog was easy because the directions were laid out for me. The avatar was a bit confusing but nothing too difficult because you just have to read the instructions carefully and do not give up on it.



The avatar reflects my personality with the background as a classroom because that is the profession I am entering. The clothes are those that I would wear in the classroom, a button up and khakis. The avatar does look like my real self and I chose to do it this way when people read my blog they can find me easily in class to discuss topics further than just writing on a blog.
